Windows facilitates us to read and write Urdu already. To read and write Urdu comfortably in windows XP, there are three steps to follow.
1. Active Urdu language support.
2. Install Urdu keyboard layout.
3. Install Urdu fonts.
While in windows vista and window 7 we have to take two steps only.
1. Install Urdu keyboard layout.
2. Install Urdu fonts.
These are simple steps that can be done by a normal computer user easily. To activate Urdu language support in windows XP, We have to need windows CD. To make Urdu installation easy, but easier, ‘Pak Urdu Installer’ has been developed.
Pak Urdu Installer performs all of above steps automatically without windows CD i.e. activates Urdu language support, install Urdu keyboard layout and installs necessary Urdu Fonts. Three common Urdu fonts that are used in Urdu websites or other places have been included in Pak Urdu Installer in which artistic font ‘Jameel Noori Nastaleeq’, CRULP font ‘Nafees Web Naskh’ and BBC Urdu font ‘Urdu Naskh AsiaType’.
After installing Pak Urdu Installer, your computer will support complete Urdu, due to which at any place Urdu can be read or written easily. The specified place where any other language is written, we can write Urdu also, ever not only in Search, E-Mail, Chat we can write Urdu but also give Urdu name to a folder and file. After installation of Pak Urdu Installer and restarting computer, Language Bar appears on Taskbar, as under given.
In which software (e.g. MS Word) you want to write Urdu, press left Alt+Shift, so you will be able to write Urdu in this software. To return English press same Alt+shift, besides it you can select Urdu or English mode by clicking on language bar on taskbar. To check the language mode we should observe Language Bar. If it appears ‘UR’ on language bar it means Urdu mode and if it appears ‘EN’ on language bar it means English language is selected.
Keep in mind, two or more languages can be installed at the same time.
